FIFA has officially announced the organization of a playoff match to determine the replacement for the Mexican team Club León in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Earlier, FIFA had announced the exclusion of Club León from the Club World Cup due to violations of ownership sharing rules, as this team belongs to the Pachuca Group, which also owns the Pachuca team participating in the tournament.

FIFA stated that the playoff match will be between the American team Los Angeles and the Mexican team Club América, scheduled to take place on May 31.

The winner of the match between Los Angeles and Club América will be placed in Group D of the Club World Cup, which also includes Flamengo, Esperance Sportive, and Chelsea.

The Club World Cup is set to kick off on June 14 and will continue until July 13.
