Abdul Ghani Shahd: The team has regained its identity and the three points are the beginning of the comeback
Zakho Club coach Captain Abdul Ghani Shahd expressed his great happiness with the performance and the result after the wide victory over Al-Hudood with a clean four-goal score, in a match held at Zakho Stadium as part of the 33rd round of the Iraqi Stars League. The match witnessed remarkable brilliance from the attacking line, with a variety of names scoring goals, reflecting the depth of the squad and the strength of teamwork within the team.
The victory came at a very important time for Zakho after a decline in their results recently, which led the management to dismiss the previous coach Talal Al-Balushi and assign Abdul Ghani Shahd to lead the next phase.
Shahd said after the match:
"Thank God, today we saw the real Zakho, the strong team that knows how to control the game and attack with confidence. This result did not come out of nowhere, but from hard work over the past days, and there was complete commitment from the players to my instructions both on and off the field."
He added: "We wanted to send a message to everyone that Zakho is not finished, and that the team still has a lot to offer in this league. It is true that we went through a difficult period, but today was a new beginning in terms of identity, spirit, and tactical discipline."
He continued: "Scoring four goals from four different players gives me positive indicators, especially since the team had been suffering from a lack of offensive effectiveness in the past rounds."
The Zakho coach concluded his remarks by saying:
"Our goal is to finish the league in the best possible position, and we will not waste any upcoming points. It is true that the competition for the title has become distant, but we play for the name of the club, and for our fans who have always supported us, and I promise them that the future will be better, God willing."
