Biserro: We Must Fight in the Remaining Matches of the League
Jose Biserro, the coach of Zamalek, confirmed that his team's match against Al-Ahly Bank today, Monday, was difficult.
The match between Zamalek and Al-Ahly Bank, which took place today as part of the fourth round of the league's decisive phase, ended in a positive draw of 2-2.
Biserro said in the press conference after the match: "The first half was good, and the opponent did not threaten our goal at all. In the second half, we controlled the situation at the beginning, and a penalty was awarded to the opponent that I believe is not correct, and a similar play was not awarded to us in the previous match."
He continued: "After we took the lead with the second goal, I was preparing to make a defensive change, but we conceded the equalizing goal, which we did not deserve to receive."
He added: "It is not right to retreat after scoring a goal, and the draw in the previous match may have pushed the players to retreat somewhat to secure the lead, and the opponent only threatened Zamalek's goal through the penalty and the second goal."
He elaborated: "Mostafa Shalaby was injured before the match, and Mohamed Shahat was injured in the first half, and the team's list is incomplete. We tried to defend the Zamalek jersey and show the best defensive and offensive level, and there are not many solutions available in the offensive aspect. I believe that Zamalek deserves a better result in today's match, especially since the team fought hard in the match."
He added: "We scored two goals in today's match, and in the last six matches, we conceded only one goal, but today we conceded two goals."
Regarding Zamalek's competition for the league, Biserro said: "We must fight in the remaining matches of the competition in addition to the Egypt Cup final match."
