Wednesday 30-04-2025
Dutch player Denzel Dumfries, the right-back for Italian club Inter Milan, stole the spotlight during the match against Barcelona, after scoring and assisting in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, currently held at the Montjuïc Stadium.

Dumfries opened the match by assisting his teammate Marcus Thuram with an early goal just 30 seconds in, before adding the second goal himself in the 21st minute with a stunning double kick.

According to 'Squawka', Dumfries became the first Dutch player to score and assist in a Champions League semi-final since Wesley Sneijder, who achieved the same feat against Barcelona in the first leg of the 2010 edition.

It is worth mentioning that Inter qualified for the final at that time despite losing the return leg 1-0, having won 3-1 in the first leg, advancing with an aggregate score of 3-2, while the current match between Barcelona and Inter Milan is tied 2-2.
