Eintracht Frankfurt has received a severe blow following the confirmation of Brazilian goalkeeper Kawa Santos suffering a torn ACL, in addition to the injury of team star Mario Götze, after being eliminated from the UEFA Europa League by Tottenham.

The club announced that Santos, 22 years old, sustained the injury during the 1-0 loss in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, and after examinations, it was revealed he has a torn ACL, meaning he will be sidelined for a long time.

Meanwhile, Götze left the match early after just 17 minutes due to a muscle injury in his thigh and will be out indefinitely, while Faiz Shaibi replaced him.

These absences come at a critical time, as Eintracht Frankfurt currently sits in third place in the German league table with 51 points, just 3 points ahead of fourth-placed Leipzig and 5 points ahead of Mainz in fifth place, amidst a fierce battle for qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
