Ismail Youssef: The Super Match Could Be Replayed
Saturday 05-04-2025
Ismail Youssef, the former Zamalek star, spoke on the "MBC Masr 2" channel about the crisis of the recent Super Match.

He said, "The scene in the last 3 or 4 years has been very bad, as Egyptian football is managed by the clubs' association and the Football Association. If a stronger club emerges, we will see the scene in this way."

He added, "Zamalek was completely outside this issue until it was dragged into it last season, where 6 points were deducted from it, so it was natural for what the association said to be implemented."

He continued, "The recent decision by the clubs' association is wrong; there is a law that must be applied to everyone, just like what happened with Zamalek last season."

He further stated, "Zamalek managed the issue with utmost professionalism until it was deliberately dragged into it, and what happened is extremely dangerous for the future of Egyptian football."

He added, "It is possible for Al Ahly to file a complaint, based on the clubs' association decision, claiming that there is a compelling excuse that necessitates replaying the match."

He concluded, "If Al Ahly resorts to the appeals committee or the sports court later, it is possible that the match will be replayed. If it ends up with only a deduction of three points, Al Ahly may file a complaint based on the clubs' association decision, which acknowledged the existence of a compelling excuse, which could lead to the match being replayed."
