The Portuguese José Peseiro, coach of Zamalek, commented on his team's goalless draw against South Africa's Stellenbosch in today's first leg of the African Confederation Cup quarter-finals.

Peseiro said through the South African network "SABC SPORT": "I believe my team performed well, especially defensively, but we should have shown better offensively."

He added: "Of course, absences affect any team, but we have 26 players, and any player who participates works to perform well and give their best for the team."

He continued: "We need to improve offensively in the return leg, create many opportunities, and score goals to secure qualification, and I trust in our ability to do that."

He went on: "Football in South Africa is developing, and there are big teams like Sundowns and Orlando Pirates."

Peseiro concluded: "I thank the fans who traveled to South Africa to support the team in today's match against Stellenbosch, and this is the nature of Zamalek's fans who continuously support the team."
