Biserro's Statements Before the Petrojet Match
Saturday 22-03-2025
Portuguese coach Jose Biserro spoke about his team's upcoming match against Petrojet, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, as part of the Cairo Capital Cup competition.

Biserro said in the press conference before the match: "Zamalek is still fighting for the Cairo Capital Cup, and the team plays to win every match and every tournament. We drew in the first match against El Gouna, and our goal is to win against Petrojet tomorrow."

He added: "All possibilities are open for tomorrow's match regarding the inclusion of new players in the lineup, but there must be a balance in the team. Zamalek plays to achieve victory, and the rotation process is calculated. All players have the capabilities, and if you put 11 players without competition and without harmony, regardless of their quality, they will not perform well. Therefore, I cannot make many changes to the lineup at once. The players need development, and making too many changes in the formation will not be good for the team or the players themselves. I rely on a blend of those who participate regularly and some players who are less involved."

He continued: "I was happy with the players' organizational performance in the previous match against El Gouna, and I wanted more aggression from the team on the pitch. There should have been more speed on the field because the competing teams face us defensively, like El Gouna, who defended with seven players."

Biserro added: "We controlled the course of the previous match, and the opponent scored from a counter-attack due to our mistake. After that, we tried to equalize and achieve victory. The match was more open between the two teams after the goal. Zamalek created many chances to win, and I believe there is a positive aspect in the team's ability to come back and equalize. This is not the first time we have been behind in a match and returned without losing. In the matches where we scored first, we achieved victory. The winning mentality is present in the team, and the players do not give up. We must fight until the last minute. We are not happy with the draw against El Gouna, but there are positives that made me happy, and I hope the team does not suffer tomorrow and that we score without conceding goals."

He concluded: "I do not care about appointing a foreign referee for the match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egypt Cup. All referees can make mistakes, but the important thing is that mistakes do not recur. There were penalty kicks that were not awarded to us by foreign referees, like in the match against Al Ahly, and there were also penalty kicks not awarded by Egyptian referees in the matches against Petrojet and Zed. The referee can make mistakes; no one is perfect. The referee must develop himself and avoid repeating mistakes."
