Pep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, held a press conference today, Friday, to discuss the anticipated match against Brighton tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the Premier League fixtures.

Guardiola spoke about the strength of the opponent, emphasizing that Brighton is one of the best teams in the Premier League, saying: "Brighton has been performing excellently both on and off the pitch, and it is no secret what they have been doing for many years; they deserve their current position rightfully."

The Spanish coach also stressed the importance of improving performance to ensure qualification for the Champions League, explaining: "We have ten matches left, six of which are at home, and four away, all of which are extremely tough; we need to reach the highest possible level if we want to qualify."

He pointed out that his team wasted a precious opportunity last week against Nottingham, saying: "In that match, we did not deserve to win, and I like to earn success when I achieve it."

In response to criticisms from Italian coach Fabio Capello, whom he described as arrogant and accused of harming Italian football, Guardiola said sarcastically: "I enjoy everything that is said about me, so be careful; this is not the first time Mr. Capello has said that, I am not good enough to win in Italian football, a big hug to Fabio."

Guardiola confirmed that the competition for a Champions League qualifying spot will be fierce, adding: "Brighton, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and perhaps even Fulham, are all great teams competing for qualification."

The Spanish coach commented on the exclusion of his player Jack Grealish from the England national team, saying: "I cannot judge the reasons for his exclusion, but I wish him all the best both on and off the pitch; he puts in a great effort in training."

He also praised his goalkeeper Ederson, saying: "He is an amazing goalkeeper, has played with us for nine years, and has delivered outstanding performances."

Regarding his team's exit from the playoff qualifying for the Round of 16 in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Guardiola said: "I feel no disappointment or regret because we did not deserve to be there this season."

He added jokingly: "This season, Manchester City deserves to sit on the couch with a glass of wine and enjoy watching the beautiful football that others are playing."
