Ibrahim El-Monessy, the editor-in-chief of Al Ahly magazine, denied that any decision has been made to suspend the media figure Ahmed Shobeir following the complaint filed against him by Zamalek Club.
Ibrahim El-Monessy said in a video on YouTube: "I was surprised today by a lot of news about the suspension of Ahmed Shobeir indefinitely.. this did not happen, the story is that the Media Performance Regulation Committee met based on the complaint from Zamalek Club, and recommended the suspension of Ahmed Shobeir's program.
He added: "The Media Performance Regulation Committee submitted the recommendation to the secretariat of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, headed by Khaled Abdelaziz, who has not issued any decision so far.. there is no official decision to suspend Ahmed Shobeir, this is a recommendation from the Media Performance Regulation Committee and the Supreme Council has not made any decision regarding it yet.
He continued: "The legal representative of Al Ahly channel will appear before the Supreme Council for Media Regulation next Monday to clarify the situation, and after that the Supreme Council will make its decision in light of the recommendation of the Media Performance Regulation Committee and what will result from the investigation with the legal representative of Al Ahly channel.
