Arteta: We are disappointed, and this is my opinion about the disallowed goal
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta appeared in press statements after the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, in the 22nd round of the English Premier League.
The coach said: “We were Great. We are very proud of the way we played, how dominant we were, how smoothly we performed and how much effort we put in.
He added: “We played three matches in six days. We are very proud of them, but at the same time we are very disappointed. We deserve more. We didn't get that, and we're sad about that."
On the goals we conceded: "We were nowhere near the standards of what we demanded. It's a fine line against them as they keep you on On the edge of the abyss all the time.”
And about overall performance: “Speed, energy, quality, and level of performance. It was the best performance we had against Villa because they are a really good team. But we need to get the result.”
And about the goal disallowed due to a handball on Kai Havertz after a shot from Merino: “Yes, I saw it. From one angle it does not look like [a handball] and from another angle it looks like a handball. The decision has been made.”
He concluded: “We had many other opportunities that We could have scored if it weren't for that disallowed goal."
