Yasser Al-Meshal, President of the Saudi Football Federation, confirmed that he bears responsibility for the loss to Oman today.

The Omani team was able to defeat the Saudi team with a score of 2-1 in the semi-final match of the Arabian Gulf Cup to qualify for the final.

Al-Meshal said in statements on the "SSC" channel after the match: "We apologize to all the fans because we aspired to achieve victory and qualify for the final round."

He added: “We had two goals for this tournament: competition and creating more harmony, especially since we have new players and a new generation.”

He continued: “Unfortunately, we were not successful today, even though the match was relatively easy, but God destined and did what He wanted. We repeat our apologies, and the performance was bad, and we will focus on the next China match and achieve better results.”

He concluded: “There were 10 players absent due to suspensions and injuries, and this is not an excuse. The scenario is easy. We did not succeed and therefore we will stand with the players and renew confidence in them, and I bear full responsibility.”
