Qatari international player Akram Afif succeeded in being crowned the best player in Asia for the year 2023, after a strong competition with the rest of the candidates for the award, including Yazan Al-Naimat and South Korean Seol Young.
Qatari star Akram Afif became the first player from his country to win the Best Player in Asia award twice, after his brilliance in the 2023/2024 season.
He shared Qatar’s amazing journey during its defense. He won the Asian Cup title earlier this year, and won the Best Player award, while he was chosen as the best player in the Qatar Stars League after helping his Qatari team Al-Sadd win the league title for the 17th time.
The Qatari player is considered the third player to win the award more than once after the Japanese Hidetoshi Nakata 1997/1998, and the Uzbek Server Dzhiparov 2008/2011.
