Kohler: We deserve to win, and we are preparing for Al Ain of the Emirates

Al-Ahly club’s technical director, Marcel Kohler, stated that Al-Ahly deserved to win today against Zamalek, in the match that brought together the two teams at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the Emirates in the Egyptian Super Cup final.

He said: “We showed our true mettle today in the Egyptian Super Championship final against Zamalek. We had many chances and we were not lucky during the match to score goals, but in the end we succeeded in winning on penalties.”

He continued: “Al-Ahly deserves to win and of course we are happy with the title, and all the players were extremely focused throughout the entire match, all the way to extra time, and then the penalty shootout.”

He stressed: “Al-Ahly is always looking to win matches and win titles, and the team is always put to the test in every match.”

He added: “Today we celebrate the Egyptian Super Cup and then close the page. We have a new challenge next week against Al Ain in the Intercontinental Championship, during which we are looking for victory and continuing in the tournament.”

He sent a message to the fans. Saying: “The team does its best during the matches in order to win and make you happy.”
