The journalist Amir Hesham revealed details of Al Ahly's negotiations with the player Fiston Mayele to sign him during the summer transfer window.
Hisham said on the "Modern Sports" program on the Modern MTI channel: "Some suggested the possibility of signing Maieli for a season or two as a temporary solution in the upcoming phase, and thus the player was contacted through some intermediaries."
He added: "Fiston Mayele welcomed wearing the Al Ahly club jersey and requested to receive 2.5 million dollars per season, which was rejected by the Red Castle management."
"The decision on the negotiation file with Maieli has been postponed again until after the end of the 2026 World Cup, while the search continues for a strong striker to join the team."
