Ahmed El-Shenawy: I Did Not Expect Zamalek to Compete for the League This Season
Ahmed El-Shenawy, the Pyramids goalkeeper, confirmed that he did not expect Zamalek to win the Premier League title this season due to the crises facing the White Club.
El-Shenawy said in statements to the "On Stadium" program on "On Sport" channel: "I was delighted with Al-Masry's victory in the Cairo Cup and I wish the club more championships. I might consider returning to it because it is my home."
Regarding his experience with Zamalek Club, he said: "My experience with Zamalek was very successful as I won 6 titles with them, and it is a period I cherish."
He added, "I did not expect Zamalek to compete for the league this season, but they deserved the title due to the support of the fans and the dedication of the players."
He continued: "Pyramids' policy has changed recently by signing only what the team needs, rather than acquiring stars in every position."
