The Spanish Marques Lopez, coach of the Qatari national team, confirmed that his team is ready for the match against Iran scheduled for today.

Today, the Qatar national team will meet its counterpart, the Iranian national team, in the fourth round of the first group in the framework of the third stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.

Lopez added during the introductory press conference for the match: “I am confident in my team’s ability to perform well against the strong Iranian team... and we are well aware of the importance of this confrontation.”

He continued:" We studied the Iranian team, we know the style it adopts, and we are ready for all possibilities, and we have developed a strategy that ensures that we limit the danger of the competitor, and achieve a result that satisfies our ambitions and makes our fans happy.”

He pointed out that the victory his team achieved over Kyrgyzstan in the last round constituted a moral motivation for the players.

Lopez continued: “We will build on this, in order to continue in the same way in tomorrow’s match, and score more points, despite some of the difficulties we faced, which are related to the short preparation period and the time interval between the two matches.”
