Ten Hag: We did what we wanted, and Rashford will score more
Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag appeared in press statements, after the 3-0 victory over Southampton in the fourth round of the English Premier League.
The coach said: “We have to win every match and that is what we did today.”
He added: “Sometimes you have to find a way to win. In the first minutes of the match we faced some problems.” But after Andre [Onana] saved the penalty kick and Matthijs de Ligt's goal, the game was all ours.”
On Marcus Rashford’s goal: “It is very important. We spoke before the match and it is very huge for him, for every striker, when the season starts you want to be on the scoresheet and now he has his first goal, I am sure more will come.”
He concluded: “Injuries? We suffered international injuries at the beginning of the season, some of which were not completed before the start of the season, and some of which came from international trips, and when the match starts at 12:30 noon, you may face some difficulties. We hope the injury is not serious, and we have to evaluate it today and tomorrow.”
