Alfadjo Cissé continues to shine with AC Milan
Alfadjo Cissé continues to shine in AC Milan's shirt, having scored another goal in the match against Genoa, reaffirming his right to more playing time given his impressive numbers this season and his ability to contribute offensively even when playing alongside Christian Pulisic.
AC Milan's match against Bologna saw an exceptional performance from the young player, who scored two goals in just 13 minutes, between the 14th and 27th minutes, after starting for the first time following four consecutive matches on the bench, during which he only received 17 minutes of play.
The two goals came in a similar fashion, as Cissé displayed a remarkable scoring instinct inside the box, on a night that marked his first goals at San Siro, although his joy was somewhat diminished by Bologna's comeback, who secured victory with a three-goal haul from Samuel Mbanguola.
Following that, Sissé only participated in the last seven minutes of the derby match, before getting another chance as a starter against Ferencváros in the UEFA Europa League. However, the coach decided to substitute him at half-time after a modest performance from the team during the first half of the match.
Despite this, the coach gave him another chance against Genoa, this time alongside Christian Pulisic in the starting lineup, in a formation closer to 4-4-2, where Sise played in the left winger position.
The young player needed only 13 minutes to open the scoring, taking advantage of an Adrien Rabiot pass, and finished the move calmly and confidently. This provides an important indication regarding the possibility of combining him with Christian Pulisic in the starting lineup, after the coach previously treated them as competing options for a single position.
The numbers reveal an exceptional start for Cissé, as he has raised his tally to five goals in nine matches in Serie A, including three goals in the last two matches he started against Bologna and Genoa.
He scored a hat-trick against Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Europa League, bringing his total goals to eight in 13 matches across all competitions. This is an impressive tally for a player who is 20 years old and is in his first season in Serie A.
