Algeria beat Sundowns to win CAF Super Cup
CR Belouizdad won the CAF Super Cup for the second time in its history after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 in the match held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Zakaria Draoui opened the scoring for the Algerian team in the 4th minute, after a fine cross from Ahmed Khaldi, before Iqraam Rayners equalized for Sundowns in the 25th minute from a penalty.
Union de la Algérie regained their lead in the 36th minute, through Saadi Radouani, who scored the second goal with a header from a corner kick.
In the second half, which was delayed due to heavy rain, Ahmed Khaldi succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 55th minute with a stunning shot that found the far corner of the net past goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Union de la Algérie maintained their lead until the end of the match, clinching the continental title for the second time, having previously won the tournament in 2023 against Al Ahly FC with a goal to nil.
