Ronald Araújo wins Player of the Month award at Liverpool

Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo has been awarded Liverpool's Player of the Month for October, presented by the club's official sponsor, Standard Chartered, following his impressive performances in the Reds' shirt throughout last month.

Ronald Araújo started in all six matches for Liverpool during October, helping the team achieve five victories in different competitions, namely the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and EFL Cup, earning him a significant margin in the fan vote for the award.

The Uruguayan defender scored two goals this month, both with headers in European victories against LASK and Villarreal. He also received widespread praise for his strong defensive performance, especially after he cleared the ball with a header from inside his own penalty area during the match against Brighton, a moment that contributed to his selection as Player of the Week in the Premier League.

After receiving the award at the AXA training center, Araújo expressed his happiness and gratitude to Liverpool fans, saying: "I feel grateful to everyone, and to the fans in particular, for this award. I am very thankful for the love they have shown me since the moment I arrived at the club, and what I will do is give everything I have for them."

He added: "They made me feel like one of them, and I tried to repay that love through hard work, commitment, and giving my best in every training session and every match. I hope we can win titles this season to bring them more happiness."

Ronald Araújo thanked his teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at the club, confirming that they have helped him adapt comfortably and that he is learning a lot from them since joining the team.

Ronald Araújo has become the second player to win the Liverpool Player of the Month award for the 2026-2027 season, after Jérémy Jacquet claimed the award for August and September.
