Chelsea plan to renew Colwill's contract amid Liverpool interest
Chelsea are set to open negotiations with defender Levi Colwill regarding a contract renewal until 2027, amid ongoing interest from Liverpool in signing him.
TEAMtalk reported that Chelsea are determined to keep the 23-year-old player, who has become one of the standout young defenders in the Premier League since his promotion to the first team in 2023.
Brighton previously attempted to sign Levi Colwill permanently after his successful loan spell, while Tottenham and Liverpool showed interest in securing his services, but Chelsea rejected to part ways with him on all occasions.
Liverpool are monitoring the situation of the English defender, while Chelsea consider him a key element in their future plans, as part of the club's policy.
Colwill is linked to Chelsea until 2029, with the club having the option to extend his contract. However, the management believes that his development warrants a new agreement on improved terms, and talks with his representatives are expected to begin, with renewal becoming a priority during 2027.
Chelsea are keen to secure the future of one of their top academy graduates amid interest from Liverpool and several rivals in the Premier League.
