Marc Casadó nears return, a boost for Deportivo La Coruña
Deportivo La Coruña have received positive news regarding their player Marc Casadó, as his recovery from injury has accelerated. The midfielder is now close to returning to action with the team.
Marc Casadó moved to Deportivo La Coruña on loan from FC Barcelona last summer, on the final day of the transfer window, in search of greater opportunities for regular playing time and to gain experience, after his chances of getting sufficient playing minutes under Hans Flick diminished.
The Spanish player has gradually begun to secure his place in coach Antonio Hidalgo's plans before suffering a serious injury on September 20 during the match against Real Betis, following a bad fall after a challenge with Marc Roca, resulting in a fracture of his right clavicle and forcing him to leave the pitch and undergo surgery.
After around seven weeks since his injury, Casadó has entered a new phase of recovery, having already participated in several group training sessions, with positive indications regarding his response to the rehabilitation program. During this time, he has worked on reducing his absence and returning ahead of the expected timeline.
A loaned FC Barcelona player is a candidate to return to Deportivo La Coruña's squad for the upcoming match against RCD Espanyol this weekend, but the final decision will depend on his physical condition after the last training session.
Antonio Hidalgo, coach of Deportivo La Coruña, said: "He is very excited. We must be cautious, considering that there is an international break coming up. We will see how he finishes training today, Friday, to determine his availability for the squad."
Marc Casadó is working to gradually regain his fitness and return to match action to continue his experience with Deportivo, aiming to achieve the goal that led him to temporarily leave FC Barcelona, which is to gain regular playing minutes and continue his professional development.
