Walid Salah Abdel Latif questions the timing of establishing the football company at Zamalek
Former Zamalek star Walid Salah Abdel Latif has criticized the decision to establish a football company at the club at this time, considering that this step is inappropriate given that there is only one year left until the end of the current council's legal term.
Walid Salah Abdel Latif raised questions during his appearance with journalist Amir Hisham on "Modern MTI" regarding the current council's right to issue long-term strategic decisions as its legal term comes to an end.
He added: "The board of directors has one year left in its legal term, so how will it establish a company that lasts for years? It is difficult for the board to make a decision of this magnitude, especially given the proposal to grant the club only 40% of the company, in exchange for 60% for the investors."
He emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent study of the football company's file, calling for the public disclosure of the identities of the company's members and the precise definition of their powers, in order to avoid imposing a fait accompli that may be difficult to amend in the future.
A former Zamalek star emphasized the need for all decisions regarding the club's future to be in the hands of its institutions, not investors, especially since the company will manage one of the most important files within the White Castle.
