Haaland: We need to deliver a better level, and this is what we must do

Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s striker, has called on his teammates to deliver a better performance, despite winning 3-2 against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

The Norwegian striker scored the winning goal 12 minutes from the end of the match, leading Manchester City to regain victory after their loss to Brighton on Saturday, having squandered their lead twice during the encounter that took place in Germany.

Haaland said: "I think we need to deliver a slightly better level; when we were leading by one goal, we should have pressed to score the second and then the third, and that is what we need to do, we need to work on that."

He added: "We must keep the ball, and know when to hold it and when to push forward, while working together on both the attacking and defensive levels."

He concluded his statements by saying: "You can always perform better, and there is always a new opportunity."
