RB Leipzig opens the door for Johan Bakayoko's departure in January
Belgian Johan Bakayoko is nearing a departure from RB Leipzig during the upcoming winter transfer window, as the club is open to his exit due to his difficulty in securing a key role in the team.
According to Sky Sport Germany, RB Leipzig are ready to part with their 23-year-old winger for a fee between €11 and €12 million, while a loan in January seems to be the most realistic option, considering the current transfer market conditions.
Bakayoko earns an annual base salary of several million euros, with the potential to increase his income through performance-related bonuses.
The player joined RB Leipzig from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2025 for €18 million, plus an additional €4 million in potential incentives, and his contract with the club runs until 2030.
The Belgian winger has scored three goals in 26 official matches with RB Leipzig, but he has only participated in four matches this season in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, totaling 149 minutes.
