Abdullah Khateeb: We dream of winning the Gulf Club Champions League and representing the national team is a great honor

Al Ettifaq ignited the ambitions of its fans in the Gulf Club Champions League race after defeating Ajman 2-0 in the third round of Group C.

Abdullah Khateeb, the Al Ettifaq defender, has confirmed that the team is looking to continue their journey successfully and reach the furthest stage possible, emphasizing that the players' dream is to win the tournament.

Abdullah Khateeb stated that the victory over Ajman represents an important boost for the team and its fans, explaining that the agreement aims to achieve positive results during the four remaining matches in order to secure the title.

The Al-Ettifaq defender spoke about his call-up to the Saudi national team, emphasizing that representing the Green is a great honor for every player, and that wearing the national team jersey is a responsibility that requires sacrifice and giving one's utmost effort.

He expressed his happiness with this step and his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the national team.

Arthur Babas, the head coach of Al Ettifaq, praised the victory, confirming that his team succeeded in overcoming a strong and organized opponent, and that the win gives the players a morale boost ahead of upcoming challenges.

Babass has stated that the agreement aims to continue competing until the end of the tournament, pointing out the team's readiness for the upcoming phase, even if the date of their postponed match against Al Hilal in the league remains unchanged.

In contrast, Goran Tufegdžić, the coach of Ajman, acknowledged Al Ettifaq's right to win, despite being satisfied with his players' performance, confirming that his team had a good match against a well-organized opponent.

Joran stated that Ajman had numerous opportunities to score, but the brilliance of the Al Ettifaq goalkeeper and a lack of concentration in front of goal prevented his team from capitalizing on them and turning them into goals.

Ajman coach indicated his intention to review the mistakes that appeared during the match and work on correcting them, in order to regain balance and prepare better for the upcoming matches.

With this victory, Al Ettifaq has raised its tally to 6 points, equal with Ajman, who suffered their first defeat in the tournament after previously winning against Erbil and Kazma.
