Al-Ettifaq renews request to postpone match against Erbil after team fails to arrive in Iraq
The club stated in an official statement that it has submitted a request for postponement to the Gulf Club Champions League, based on a number of justifications related to the circumstances of holding the match and the difficulty of the team's arrival in the city of Erbil.
The agreement indicated that the club's management has made continuous efforts and follow-ups to resolve the crisis, with support from the Saudi Football Federation. However, the response received by the club included a refusal to postpone and maintained the original date for the match.
The management confirmed that it coordinated with the relevant authorities and found that it was not possible for the team to be in Erbil, Iraq at the scheduled time, prompting them to submit a new request to postpone the match.
Al-Ettifaq has requested the Gulf Club Champions League to reconsider its position regarding the request and to take into account the circumstances surrounding the match according to the applicable regulations and procedures in such cases.
The club's management insists on the request for postponement due to the team's inability to travel to Iraq, calling for a review of the decision that takes into account the circumstances preventing the match from being played on the announced date.
Al-Ettifaq have renewed their request to postpone their match against Erbil, scheduled for Wednesday in the Gulf Club Champions League, after it was confirmed that the team's delegation would be unable to travel to Iraq to play the match at the scheduled time.
