Al-Ettifaq overcome Ajman 2-0 in Gulf Club Champions League

Al-Ettifaq secured a 2-0 victory against Ajman in their match on Wednesday evening at Al-Ettifaq Stadium in Dammam, as part of the third round of Group C in the Gulf Club Champions League.

The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first half, with neither able to find the net, leaving the match open to all possibilities before the break.

With the start of the second half, Abdoulaye Kanté succeeded in breaking the deadlock by scoring the opening goal for Al-Ettifaq in the 53rd minute, giving the home side an important advantage.

Al-Ettifaq held a narrow lead until the final moments, before Mattia Glushkevich struck a second blow for Ajman.

Gluševic scored the second goal in the 7th minute of stoppage time, confirming Al-Ettifaq's superiority and securing the win and three points for his team.

With this result, Al-Ettifaq has increased its tally to 6 points, equalling Ajman in the standings of Group C in the Gulf Club Champions League.

Ajman suffered their first defeat in the tournament after starting their campaign with two consecutive victories against Erbil and Kazma, before falling to Al-Ettifaq.
