Tebas: Real Madrid aims to weaken LaLiga, and Mbappé's penalty against Racing is not correct
Javier Tebas, the president of LaLiga, discussed several issues concerning Real Madrid, including José Mourinho's criticisms regarding the team's fixture schedule, as well as the Negreira case.
Javier Tebas commented on the penalty awarded to Kylian Mbappé against Racing: "From my perspective as a fan, I don't think it's a penalty. But why doesn't VAR intervene? This question should be directed to the head of the referees' technical committee. Perhaps the referees made a mistake, but VAR should have intervened at least, because the play looked like a clear foul."
Regarding José Mourinho's criticisms of Real Madrid's fixture schedule, Tebas replied: "He should ask Emilio Butragueño, because he will tell him the matter. When the date is available, things are organized, and when it is not possible, it cannot be implemented, and he knows that well from his experience in the Premier League, where he played some matches with a gap of no more than 48 hours, so he knows better than anyone the nature of these circumstances."
The president of LaLiga added: "In the end, these decisions are made by the upper management, and they must be accepted and moved forward with."
Regarding the controversy surrounding the Negreira case, he said: "It seems as if Negreira is present in the referees' dressing rooms during their matches."
He concluded regarding the Real Madrid channel: "Real Madrid opposes everything LaLiga is doing, causing us serious damage in terms of broadcasting rights. This damage is not limited to the association, but affects all Spanish clubs. Real Madrid's goal is to weaken LaLiga in order to promote other competitions, such as the European Super League."
