Courtois achieves new milestone with Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois has continued to etch his name in the history of Real Madrid, having matched the legendary goalkeeper Miguel Ángel's record by reaching 346 matches in the royal club's jersey, placing him third on the list of the most appearances by goalkeepers in the team's history.

Thibaut Courtois achieved this milestone after participating in the match between Real Madrid and Racing, which took place in the city of Santander, where he captained the team, reaching the same number of matches played by Miguel Ángel with the club.

The Belgian goalkeeper joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in the 2018-2019 season, and during his first season, he played 35 matches, keeping a clean sheet on 10 occasions, before continuing his journey with the team over the following seasons.

Thibaut Courtois has played a total of 346 matches, with 242 in LaLiga, 74 in the UEFA Champions League, 9 in the FIFA Club World Cup, 8 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the Supercopa de España, and 2 in the UEFA Super Cup.

In terms of titles, Courtois has won the UEFA Champions League twice with Real Madrid, the FIFA Club World Cup three times, the UEFA Super Cup twice, LaLiga three times, the Copa del Rey once, and the Supercopa de España three times.

Thibaut Courtois won the Yashin Award in 2022, as well as the Zamora Trophy for the best goalkeeper in LaLiga during the 2019-2020 season, in addition to being named the best player in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool, where Real Madrid secured their fourteenth title.

Only Iker Casillas, who leads the list with 725 matches, and Francisco Buyo, in second place with 454 matches, have made more appearances than Thibaut Courtois for Real Madrid.
