Toney: We will face Al-Sadd with a champions mentality, and the match against Al-Shabab is in the past

Englishman Ivan Toney, Al Ahly FC's forward, stressed the importance of facing Qatari side Al-Sadd with a champions' mentality, confirming the difficulty of the match scheduled for Monday evening, despite his confidence in his team's ability to overcome the challenge.

Ivan Toney said during the press conference: "We are the defending champions, and we must enter with a fighting spirit and a champion's mentality, so that we can handle the match and deliver the best possible performance."

The English striker explained that Al Ahly FC has a good tactical plan to face Al-Sadd, expressing hope that it will succeed and help the team achieve victory and return to a path of positive results.

Ivan Toney reflected on the heavy loss to Al Shabab with a score of 6-1 in the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League, emphasizing that the performance did not reflect the reality of Al Ahly FC, and that the team lacked its identity and usual style of play.

Al Ahly FC's striker stated that facing Al-Sadd represents an opportunity to regain true form and correct the course, noting that the team has previously proven its strength by winning the AFC Champions League Elite title twice in a row.

Ivan Toney concluded his statements by affirming that defeats are part of football and that the loss to Al Shabab is now in the past, while the players' focus is currently on the upcoming matches, starting with the encounter against Al-Sadd.
