Details of Zamalek's training ahead of Wadi Degla clash
Zamalek SC's coaching staff has adopted a varied training strategy for the team's players as they prepare for the upcoming match against Wadi Degla in the Cairo Capital Cup.
Coach Mo'tamed Jamal has opted to give the key players who participated in the recent El Mokawloon SC match an extra rest. Meanwhile, a group of substitutes and players who are out of consideration took part in a regular training session.
Zamalek SC will face Wadi Degla next Monday in the second round of the group stage of the Cairo Capital Cup.
The substitute players and those excluded from the match against El Mokawloon SC trained today at the auxiliary pitch of the Air Defense Stadium, as part of the preparations for the upcoming match, while the players who participated as starters in the last match were given a break from training.
The training session for the excluded players began with a physical segment supervised by the Portuguese Nono Costa Ribeiro, the fitness coach. It included running drills around the pitch and some light ball exercises, aimed at maintaining the players' physical readiness.
Once the physical aspect was completed, the training shifted to tactical aspects; the head coach divided his players into several groups to implement specific tactical drills, and he made sure to intervene repeatedly to stop the play in order to provide instructions and address technical errors on the spot.
