Manchester United inquire about the possibility of signing Fermín López and Pablo Barrios

Manchester United have shown interest in signing Fermín López, a midfielder from FC Barcelona, and Pablo Barrios, a star from Atlético, as part of their efforts to seek new reinforcements during the upcoming transfer windows.

Journalist Matteo Morito explained during his appearance on the show La Pizarra on Radio Marca that the English club has inquired about the situation of the players from both clubs, but has not yet started any negotiations, as it is still at the inquiry stage.

Maurito said: "There is a club in the Premier League, which is Manchester United, that has a lot of things it needs to fix, and it is looking for a midfielder with the qualities of Barrios and Fermín. They have inquired about the players, but there are no negotiations; it is just an inquiry."

The same source confirmed that Manchester United's interest has not reached the negotiation stage, clarifying that the English club has only inquired about Fermín's situation, alongside Pablo Barrios of Atlético.

In discussing the chances of player departures, Morito emphasized the difficulty of completing the two transfers, stating: "It is very difficult for both to leave; Pablo Barrios is an indispensable player for Atlético, and Fermín is a key player for FC Barcelona, but Manchester United is looking for this type of player."

Morito added that Manchester United took advantage of their recent visit to Madrid for a UEFA Champions League match to hold several meetings, explaining: "When they came to Madrid for the UEFA Champions League match, they seized the opportunity to hold many meetings."

Fermín López remains among the names Manchester United have inquired about to strengthen their midfield, with no negotiations with FC Barcelona taking place yet, according to Morito.
