Matheus: Kovač is the right coach for Dortmund, and Bayern have a big advantage

German football legend Lothar Matthäus has defended Niko Kovač, the head coach of Borussia Dortmund, against criticism of the team's playing style, affirming that he is the right coach to lead the club. Matthäus acknowledged the clear gap in capabilities and quality between Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Matheus has stated that Kovač is well aware of the potential available to him and knows how to get the best out of his players, explaining that Dortmund does not have the same quality or financial capabilities as clubs like Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.

He added that the difference in capabilities forces Kovač to rely on a different style, based on defensive cohesion, discipline, and aggression, pointing out that the team has some elements capable of making a difference, such as Serhou Guirassy, but it remains inferior to Bayern Munich in terms of attacking, which has a significant advantage in this aspect.

The Bayern Munich legend emphasized that Kovač is being unfairly criticized for the unattractiveness of Dortmund's performance, asserting that the team is achieving success and playing according to the available resources, and that the Croatian coach is the right choice to lead them.

Matheus believes Bayern Munich are strong contenders to win the match, especially with the game taking place at Allianz Arena. He pointed out that the team has control and confidence, as well as greater attacking quality, citing the presence of Michael Oliseh, Luis Díaz, and Serhou Guirassy in the ranks of Dortmund.

On another note, Matheus praised English striker Harry Kane, considering him one of the standout stars of world football. He noted that Kane's influence extends beyond just scoring goals; it also includes his leadership role in the dressing room and his contribution to the development of young players.

Kane has been described as a face of Bayern Munich on and off the pitch, pointing out that he has proven to possess great collective abilities that were not as apparent during his previous experience with Tottenham, and that his move to Munich has helped him showcase additional aspects of his capabilities.
