Eberl reveals nature of talks with Kompany during absence

Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's sporting director, spoke about the nature of the communication he shares with the team's coach Vincent Kompany, emphasizing that the priority is to give him the space and calm he needs, away from the pressures related to football.

Eberl said: "What we are trying to do is give him space and leave him alone, but of course you ask a friend how he is doing. This is the nature of the conversations we have. We talk on the phone and keep in touch, but we always try, or at least I try, to keep football out of our conversations."

He added: "Of course, after the Magdeburg match, he will tell me: that was great yesterday. Or after the SC Freiburg match: the feeling of winning was good. And that is a positive thing, because we are people who live football, and winning matches is the best medicine we can get."

He concluded: "But our conversations are mainly about life, what happens in it, and how we deal with things together."
