Bayern Munich are considering a move for Martin Ødegaard, Arsenal's captain, if negotiations to renew his contract with the London club falter, amid mutual interest between the two parties.

According to "Sky Sport Germany", negotiations to extend Martin Ødegaard's contract, which expires in the summer of 2028, have not made tangible progress in recent months, despite informal discussions between the parties. Arsenal want to avoid losing the player for free, which may prompt him to make a decision about his future if an agreement on renewal is not reached by next summer.

Martin Ødegaard, 27, is attracting interest from several top European clubs after Arsenal's management received indications of interest from other clubs during the last summer transfer window, although Bayern Munich was not among them.

Despite Bayern Munich not having an urgent need for a player in his position at the moment, given they have prominent names like Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, and Jamal Musiala, they have kept regular communications with the environment of Norwegian player Martin Ødegaard over the past years.

The report indicated that Martin Ødegaard is open to a transfer to Bayern Munich should he leave Arsenal, amid mutual interest between the two parties, although matters have not yet reached the stage of official negotiations.
