Kompany asks Bayern Munich to finalize deal for Barcelona star

Bayern Munich are targeting a move for Fermín López, the FC Barcelona midfielder, in the upcoming summer transfer window, preparing to submit an offer of €80 million to persuade the Catalan club to part with him, according to "Fichajes".

The site clarified that coach Vincent Kompany has requested the signing of the 23-year-old player to bolster Bayern Munich's midfield and attacking system.

Fermín López has scored five goals and provided four assists in various competitions during the start of the 2026/2027 season under Hans Flick, which enhances his appeal to Bayern, who value his ability to contribute offensively and press opponents.

In contrast, FC Barcelona may consider the offer to generate financial liquidity that would assist in funding new signings in defense and attack, despite the player being under contract with the club until June 2031.

Bayern Munich are not the only club interested in Fermín López, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain also monitoring his situation. The same source indicated that the German club may make their official offer after the end of the season if negotiations progress.
