Wail Jumaa sends fiery messages to Al Ahly players after Modern Sport match
Wael Gomaa, the football director of Al Ahly, has sent fiery messages to the players of the Red team after their match against Modern Sport in the 8th round of the Egyptian Premier League, which ended with a 1-0 victory for the Red team.
Wael Gomaa stated in remarks to Al Ahly Channel: "The spirit, determination, insistence, and desire to win are the gains from the match; this is more important than achieving victory."
He added: "This is the determination of Al Ahly players, and that every player enters any challenge knowing that his opponent is not better than him... Rather, the Al Ahly player is the best with his individual and physical abilities, and with the shirt he wears, and this is what we are trying to convey to the players."
He continued: "Returning to the spirit of the Al Ahly shirt will not be easy, but it will require determination, willpower, and repetition. We told the players after the match that the spirit they showed today is what we want from them."
He added: "Even if we didn't win today, we will be happy with the desire, challenge, and determination that the players showed in their performance during the match. Thank God for the victory, and I wish the players good luck."
He continued: "In every match, the coach chooses his lineup according to his perspective, and that is his right, but everyone must know that only those who are worthy of wearing the Al Ahly shirt will be on the pitch. The desire and victory among the players are extremely important."
Jumaa criticised Modern Sport's approach at the start of today's match, saying: "I didn't like their start to the match, they attacked us with 8 players. Are you threatening Al Ahly? Al Ahly shouldn't be treated like that... The players will see that moment once, twice, and three times... This message needs to reach them."
Regarding the upcoming period, he said: "The players are in good physical condition, thanks to the rotation policy implemented by the coach, and this keeps the players always ready."
The coach stated: "We will have a break from training tomorrow, and we have a match next Monday, and we will start preparing for it on Saturday. All competitions are important to us, not just the league."
He explained: "Since the beginning of the season, we have set our goals, which is that Al Ahly must return to dominating the championships, and that we should have the desire to win in every match, otherwise we will face many difficulties."
Wael Gomaa concluded his statements by saying: "I believe the message has been clear in recent days, this is our path, and those who do not like this path will not be with us."
