Amouta: It was a tough match and we deserved to win by more than one goal

Hussein El Shahat, the head coach of Al Ahly FC, confirmed that his team deserved to win against Modern Sport by more than one goal in the match that took place on Thursday evening in the Egyptian League.

Al Ahly FC overcame Modern Sport with a goal to nil on Thursday evening at Cairo International Stadium, in the 8th round of the Egyptian League.

Hussein El Shahat stated in comments during the press conference after the match: "It was a difficult tactical match.. one goal is very little, we deserved to win by more than that, and we wasted more than 5 chances on goal."

The Moroccan coach added: "We must maintain our fighting spirit and determination, finish the match in parallel with the opportunities that are available to us, and have attacking effectiveness, so we do not put ourselves in a predicament, as the opponent could have seized the equalizer."

Regarding the lack of goals from Al Ahly FC's forwards, he said: "Scoring goals is not limited to the strikers... Hussein El Shahat, Zizo, and Afsha are all forwards... even the defenders, when they push forward, become strikers."

He added: "Often, even in the major leagues, the movements of the forwards benefit the midfielders, and that is the essence of football, for everyone to work on creating and scoring opportunities."
