Huijsen strengthens his position in Real Madrid's defense

Dean Huijsen has regained his place in the Real Madrid defence after an impressive performance against FC Barcelona in El Clásico, boosting his chances of retaining his spot in the starting lineup under José Mourinho, according to the Spanish news agency "EFE".

The Spanish defender's brilliance came after the criticism he faced, especially following his red card against Atlético at the Metropolitano Stadium. However, he responded strongly during the clásico, recording 10 clearances, preventing 4 shots, along with 16 defensive contributions.

Dean Huijsen has formed a solid partnership with Ibrahima Konaté after regaining his starting position against Sevilla and RB Leipzig. He then confirmed his right to participate against FC Barcelona, despite competition from both Antonio Rüdiger and Éder Militão.

The report indicated that Dean Huijsen has strengthened his position in José Mourinho's plans, having regained his defensive solidity, making the maintenance of his level the biggest challenge ahead of him.
