Real Madrid have received reassuring news regarding their Uruguayan player Federico Valverde, as medical tests revealed he has not sustained an injury after he felt pain in the back of his right thigh during the Clasico against FC Barcelona.

Federico Valverde had suffered from muscular discomfort during the match that took place at Camp Nou, continuing to play until the 62nd minute before leaving the pitch after his pain worsened. Despite the concern surrounding his condition after the match, tests confirmed that it did not develop into an injury and will not prevent him from participating against Racing Santander.

The player explained after the match that he spoke with the coach about his condition during the break, after being asked if he was able to continue the game. He noted that he tried to keep playing despite feeling discomfort, before confirming that his substitution was a precaution.

Valverde was scheduled to undergo medical tests earlier, but optimism regarding his condition led to the postponement of the MRI scan until this evening, after initial tests ruled out any serious issues.

Federico Valverde has been one of the most involved players for Real Madrid this season, having played 13 matches and clocked 1071 minutes on the pitch, with a participation rate of 92% of the team's total matches, placing him third in the list of most appearances behind Thibaut Courtois and Kylian Mbappé.

Federico Valverde is expected to be available for participation in the match against Racing Santander on Sunday, as part of a series of three away matches that Real Madrid will play, facing AEK Athens on Wednesday and then Valencia on Saturday.
