Enrique closes the door on Barcelona regarding the signing of Willian Pacho
FC Barcelona are considering signing Ecuadorian Willian Pacho, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, to strengthen their backline and provide a suitable partner for Pau Cubarsi. However, completing the deal appears complicated due to the French club's insistence on retaining the player.
According to reports, FC Barcelona believes that Willian Pacho possesses the qualities that suit the team's playing style, thanks to his strength in duels, his ability to defend in wide spaces, and his proficiency with his left foot. These factors make him a suitable option to strengthen the central defense.
In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain have strengthened their position regarding the future of Ecuadorian defender Willian Pacho, having announced the renewal of his contract until 2031, confirming the player's importance within the Parisian club's project under coach Luis Enrique.
Willian Pacho has played 105 matches with Paris Saint-Germain during his first two seasons, contributing to the team's European achievements as he became one of the key figures in the backline, thanks to his consistent performances and ability to handle individual duels.
Despite reports linking the player to FC Barcelona, there are currently no confirmed negotiations or official offers from the Catalan club, making the transfer merely a circulating interest. At a time when convincing Paris Saint-Germain to part with one of their standout defenders poses a significant challenge for the Barcelona management.
