Chinese fans burn Mbappé shirts
Reactions in China have escalated towards Kylian Mbappé, star of Real Madrid, following his comments about former Chinese leader Mao Zedong, after videos emerged of Chinese fans burning the player's shirts, according to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo".
This comes amid the ongoing crisis, coinciding with the Chinese authorities' decision to stop broadcasting Real Madrid matches on official television, following the player's remarks in which he indirectly referenced Mao while discussing the mocking images circulating about him on social media.
A Chinese fan was seen stomping on stickers featuring Mbappé, expressing his anger over the player's comments.
A fan expressed their anger over Mbappé's comments about China, stating, "I feel very angry after hearing what Mbappé said about China, and I am announcing a complete boycott of him, and I will never forgive him."
Following that, a fan set fire to a shirt bearing the name Mbappé, but it was for the France national team, not Real Madrid.
