Yasser Rayan: Sundowns exit CAF Champions League benefits Zamalek

Yasser Rayan, the former star of Al Ahly FC, has stated that Zamalek's progression to the group stage of the CAF Champions League is a successful first step. He also explained that the upcoming tests will become more complex, which requires the team members to double their efforts and focus to ensure a strong presence in the competition for the African cup.

Yasser Rayan, during his appearance as a guest on the "Stadium of the Axis" program, stated that the CAF Champions League relies on a long-term approach, which requires Zamalek to take all matches seriously, especially given the club's desire to reclaim the African title after a long absence.

Former Al Ahly FC star stated that Zamalek must prioritize the CAF Champions League this season, and that winning the title should be a primary goal for the team, given the ambitions of its fans and their desire to see the club on the continental podium.

The retired star of Al Ahly FC addressed the performance of striker Oday Dabbagh with the White Castle, describing his current contribution as a continuous downward trend. Rayan warned of the necessity for the player to take a serious look at himself and intensify his efforts to regain his previous brilliance, especially since the upcoming challenges do not allow for half measures and require maximum readiness from the entire squad.

A former Al Ahly FC star criticized Zamalek's performance against the Rwandan Army, despite the team's success in qualifying for the group stage. He pointed out that the victory was not satisfactory for the White Castle fans, given that the team did not show the expected technical level.

Yasser Rayan concluded his statements by emphasizing that Sundowns' exit from the CAF Champions League benefits Zamalek, explaining that the South African team is one of the best teams that provide exceptional football on the African continent, and their absence from the competition gives other clubs a greater opportunity to compete for the title.
