Mahrez scores first goal with Al-Shamal despite loss to Qatar SC

Algerian international Riyad Mahrez opened his scoring account for Al-Shamal after finding the net in his team's match against Qatar SC on Friday evening, in the seventh round of the Qatari league, in a match that ended with Al-Shamal losing 2-3.

Riyad Mahrez scored his first goal with his new team from a penalty in the 65th minute, during his second official appearance in the Al-Shamal shirt, marking his scoring impact despite his team's struggle to secure three points.

Al-Shamal featured a notable Algerian presence in their starting lineup, with striker Baghdad Bounedjah wearing the captain's armband, while his compatriot Nassim Benaissa participated in midfield alongside Riyad Mahrez.

Despite the goal scored by former Algeria national team captain, Al-Shamal could not avoid defeat, remaining on nine points in fifth place in the standings.

In contrast, Qatar SC has increased its tally to six points, placing them in eleventh position, second from bottom, in the competition standings.
