Arsenal plan to sign Alex Baena in January

Arsenal are planning to sign Spanish winger Alex Baena from Atlético during the upcoming winter transfer window, having renewed their interest in the player they previously targeted in 2024.

According to "TEAMtalk", citing "Fussball Transfers", Paina has become one of the options being considered to bolster Arsenal's attack, especially as he can play on the wings and in the playmaker position.

The English club is looking to strengthen the left side after parting ways with Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli last summer, and has only signed Christos Tzolis to bolster this position.

Baina, aged 25, has scored five goals and provided two assists in nine matches this season, but he is under contract with Atlético until 2030 and is of great importance to coach Diego Simeone, making his acquisition a difficult task.

Julián Alvarez remains a target for Arsenal, with his asking price dropping to €120 million, down from €150 million last summer. Reports suggest the club is prepared to sell Viktor Gyökeres for £64 million to help fund the deal.

However, Arsenal's efforts may encounter a hurdle in Julián Alvarez's desire to move to Barcelona, the club he dreams of joining, making it more difficult to finalize the deal during January.
