Arteta: We put on a great performance against Bayern Munich, there is concern over Saka's injury
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, praised his team's performance during the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, confirming that the match showcased a high level from both teams. He also expressed concern about Bukayo Saka's injury, who was forced to leave the pitch during the match.
Mikel Arteta said: "There is some concern regarding Saka's injury; when a player has to leave the pitch due to sharp pain, it is never good news, but we have to wait and see what happens."
Regarding the match proceedings, Arsenal's manager explained: "We started the match brilliantly, but we lost Bukayo Saka, who was having a great game, and we had to adapt to that. We were the dominant side in the match and did everything necessary to deserve to score the first goal."
"They scored a goal, and the second half was very balanced, but they probably started it a little better. We had to respond after the penalty, and we certainly did that; the team spirit and quality we showed were outstanding."
He continued: "What a match, this is the level we aspire to, it was one of the highest levels we have played at, both in terms of the quality of the opponent, what the match demanded, and the level we also delivered."
Arsenal's manager concluded his remarks by saying: "Both teams wanted to attack and play, and I think it was a wonderful and interesting match."
