Havertz: We must be proud of our performance, and the match was enjoyable despite its difficulty
Kai Havertz, Arsenal's forward, expressed his satisfaction with his team's 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League match, considering the result fair given the chances both teams had. He also praised the intensity of the encounter and the style of play based on individual marking.
Havertz said: "Playing in this style is definitely enjoyable, as in the end, you don't face individual duels like this in every match, and each encounter has its importance. I think we handled these encounters well throughout the match, and we were fully engaged in them."
He added: "I also think we imposed a good control over the match overall; when individual marking is applied all over the pitch, matches are always strong and difficult, but it was enjoyable."
Speaking about the match result and Arsenal's performance against Bayern Munich, Havertz said: "I think the draw was a fair result overall, we had some chances to score another goal, but Bayern had their chances too. I think it was a top-class match for both teams and for the fans as well."
Arsenal's striker said: "We can be proud of our performance, especially since holding out here is not easy at all. Bayern are one of the best teams in Europe, so we can feel satisfied with the result, although we obviously wanted to come back with a better haul."
