Liverpool target Chelsea full-back in January

Liverpool are interested in signing Malo Gusto, Chelsea's right-back, during the January transfer window as the Blues consider selling him, according to TEAMtalk.

According to the website, as reported by journalist Dean Jones, Chelsea are searching for a new right-back and may allow Malo Gusto to leave, having set his value at £67 million this summer, which is equivalent to €80 million.

The 23-year-old French player joined Chelsea in January 2023 and is contracted until the summer of 2030. He has played 141 matches for the team, scoring three goals and providing 18 assists, but has only started three matches in the Premier League this season.

Jones noted that Liverpool are monitoring the player's situation, with the possibility of completing the deal depending on the value Chelsea will accept, who are currently not pushing Joao Félix to leave and prefer to evaluate their options before making a final decision.

Liverpool previously attempted to sign Joao Gomes on loan on the final day of the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through due to Chelsea's insistence on a permanent sale, while Liverpool were only prepared to take him on loan without an obligation to buy.
